Originally from Montreal, Canada, Dr. Cynthia Phan was raised in Oak Park, California, where her family still resides. She attended the University of California, Irvine, where she received her BA in Psychology. She went on to receive her D.O. at A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri. During her medical education, Dr. Phan spent 2 years in Phoenix, Arizona, and fell in love with the area for its cultural richness, year-round sunshine, and abundant hiking trails. After completing her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University at Buffalo in New York, she is excited to return to the southwest and join Lilac OBGYN.
Dr. Phan was initially inspired to become an OBGYN and an advocate for women by the supportive female relationships throughout her life. She is committed to providing patient-centered, evidence-based, and culturally-competent care where her patients feel understood and empowered to make informed decisions about their health.
Dr. Phan met her husband while attending medical school together. She and her husband love traveling and trying new cuisines together, but their favorite meal to share will always be hot pot and KBBQ. In her free time, Dr. Phan enjoys exercising (mainly cycling, running, and kickboxing), going to concerts, hiking, reading, and spending time with her family. She looks forward to serving women of the East Valley!
